Admissions for Year 7 – September 2020
If you have been unsuccessful in securing a place for September 2020 we would advise that you apply to go onto our waiting list and also appeal.
Waiting List: In order to be added to the waiting list, you must have put Maplesden Noakes School as one of your preferences. KCC will hold our waiting list until the end of April, therefore, as KCC have stated in their letters/emails to you, please contact them if you wish to be added to our waiting list. In late April, KCC will hand the waiting list over to the school to maintain.
Appeals: In order to appeal, you must have put Maplesden Noakes School as one of your preferences. Please complete the following form and return it to Heidi Lishman, Clerk to the Governing Body, The Maplesden Noakes School, Buckland Road, Maidstone, ME16 0TJ together with any supporting documentation. Appeals should be lodged by 27th March 2020.
Admission Arrangement 2020-21
The governors of the Maplesden Noakes School have now completed their consultation regarding the School’s admission policy for 2020/21. The Governing Body met on Tuesday 12th February to discuss the responses to the consultation and has determined not to include the proposed additional criterion relating to children adopted from care outside of England. Secondary transfer from primary school: parents will receive a KCC “Admission to Secondary School” booklet from their primary school. This provides a detailed explanation of the process – parents can apply on line or on paper.
In year casual admissions: if you are moving into the area or want to change schools parents complete an in years casual admission form obtainable from KCC and return to the school. Bus: Families in Kings Hill and West Malling benefit from a direct bus service to London Road, Maidstone, just a short walk from the school gates. This route also serves Leybourne, Larkfield, Holt Wood, Ditton, Aylesford and Allington.
Train: There is a train service calling at West Malling, East Malling and Barming into Maidstone East; then a ten minute walk to school from the station. From the Snodland and Aylesford there is a train service calling at Maidstone Barracks station, which is a short walk from the school.
