Congratulations to the Year 7 Girls who won the Super 8 competition at Medway Park. As such they will now be representing MAidstone District with Valley Park Boys in the Kent School Games.

The final takes place on Thursday the 14th of June at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford.

We are pleased to announce that our new Outreach Officer, Denise Thomas, started with us on 16th April 2018.  This is a new role within the school and is part of the Careers Department.

Denise will be actively promoting Maplesden Noakes to employers with a view to increasing the opportunities for them to come into school to talk about what they do and the different careers available.  At the same time, we are looking to increase work experience possibilities and offer more support to students on finding an apprenticeship.

Denise has a huge amount of PTA experience and she is looking forward to working with our own FPTA to help them with fundraising activities as part of her community role.

Any parent or ex-student willing to give their time to the school or, able to offer work experience/apprenticeship opportunities, should contact Denise on careers@maplesden.kent.sch.uk or direct dial 01622 656273.

We were pleased to welcome Helen Critcher, Community Development Advisor for Golding Vision (part of Golding Homes) to see Charlie’s Garden on Friday 4th May 2018. Golding Vision contributed towards the construction costs of the garden and are a valued community partner offering support in areas such as our Health and Social Care Department and employer engagement programme.

The garden has survived the recent cold weather without the loss of any plants and is beginning to establish itself. With the sun out and the parasols up it has been very popular with the students and it is so good to see it full of life and laughter.
