You Can Help – Christmas Appeal 2018
29th November 2018
This year, Maplesden Noakes are once again supporting the Maidstone based charity, Homeless Care.
For many of us, Christmas is a happy time spent celebrating with family & friends. However, for some it can be a very challenging time of year, particularly those who find themselves homeless and in need of additional support.
Sadly, within our local community of Maidstone there are families with young children and individuals who will struggle to find the basic provisions of food, warmth and shelter over the festive period and into 2019.
Thankfully, the campaign ‘Can You Help’ run by Homeless Care will be there to provide a safe, supportive environment whereby they can offer a place to wash, have a hot meal and a warm drink as well as providing ongoing support.
We are asking for support in the way of donations of non-perishable items such as;
– Dry Groceries (Pasta, Cereal, Porridge, Crisps, Flour, Sugar, Tea, Coffee)
– Long life food items (UHT Milk, Baked Beans, tinned soup, tinned veg or fruit, rice pudding, pasta sauce)
– Toiletries (Shampoo/Shower Gel/Soap)
– Sanitary items (Tampons, Towels etc)
– Washing Powder, Washing up liquid, Toilet Rolls
You really will make a huge difference to someone’s Christmas and New Year if you are able to donate any of the above items.
Please bring donations into the Careers office at Maplesden Noakes, The School Council will be managing this appeal and we will be presenting the donations to the charity on December 19th, we will be inviting The Kent Messenger to advertise our contribution, they are also supporting the event.
