IT Support Apprentice – August 2025 start

In preparation for the introduction of our new Student Laptop Scheme, we are excited to be recruiting for an IT Support Apprentice to join our growing IT Technician team for August. This entry-level position is ideal for someone interested in beginning a career in IT support, with the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician qualification (equivalent to an A Level).
The apprentice will be a key member of the department, supporting the day-to-day running of the school’s IT systems and providing first-line technical support to students and staff. The role includes managing our courtesy laptop programme, helping students with login and connectivity issues, and assisting with the return and repair process for devices.
Applicants should have one of the following:
- Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths
- One or more A Levels
- Level 2 qualification
- Relevant professional experience
Applicants cannot have an existing qualification at the same level or higher than this apprenticeship in a similar subject.

This is a fixed-term apprenticeship position for two years, with the potential to progress into a permanent role upon successful completion of the programme.
Hours are 37 hours per week. 8.00am until 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am until 3.30pm Friday (inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break daily). 1.5 hours of each day are given for study and portfolio development, which forms part of the required training time. Support will be provided by a Workplace Mentor to assist with your learning.
Annual leave: 27 days per annum plus bank holidays.

Alongside an actual salary of between £14,567.00 per annum, the school currently contributes 22.5% (the equivalent of £3,278.00 per annum) towards you being a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
